Annie Ly - Owner of Sweet Ofelia Cafe & Market
Annie Ly is an entrepreneur, creative and proud owner of Sweet Ofelia Cafe & Market, a vibrant gathering place in downtown Brockville. Originally from Toronto, Annie’s entrepreneurial journey has included running a healthcare consulting firm and founding a children’s apparel brand before moving to Brockville in 2022 to pursue her dream of opening a cafe. More than a place for coffee and food, Sweet Ofelia has become a hub for creativity, connection and local culture, showcasing local artists and hosting a variety of community events. Annie is passionate about the power of art, community and youth empowerment and creating spaces where people feel welcomed, inspired and connected.
Barry Moss - Owner of 401 Electric
Barry Moss is a successful Eastern Ontario entrepreneur with a strong track record of acquiring and growing businesses. A self-described “serial entrepreneur,” he has acquired seven businesses throughout his career, beginning with 401 Electric in 1992 at just 23 years old. Under his leadership, 401 Electric has grown from a three-person operation to more than 50 employees and is now one of Eastern Ontario’s leading electrical contractors. Barry is equally passionate about giving back, contributing his leadership to numerous community organizations and charitable initiatives. Guided by the belief that “you get what you give,” he is passionate about mentoring entrepreneurs and helping people, businesses and communities reach their full potential.
Mariam Hussain - Senior Account Manager with BDC
Mariam Hussain is a Senior Account Manager with BDC, supporting entrepreneurs across Eastern Ontario with financing and growth strategies. Currently completing her MBA, she is passionate about helping business owners navigate opportunities and challenges at every stage of their journey. Mariam was recognized as one of Brockville's 40 Under 40 recipients in 2024 for her professional accomplishments and community involvement. She is dedicated to fostering entrepreneurship and strengthening local business communities.

The Entrepreneur of the Year Award recognizes an outstanding Leeds Grenville business owner who demonstrates exceptional leadership, innovation, perseverance, and business success. This annual award celebrates an entrepreneur who not only operates a successful and growing business, but also contributes meaningfully to their community and the local economy.
The award is presented annually at the Small Business Success Forum to honour the hard work, resilience, and community-minded spirit of local entrepreneurs.
Who Can Be Nominated?
Nominees must:
- Be a Leeds Grenville resident
- Own and actively operate a business in Leeds Grenville
- Have been in business for at least two years
- Employ fewer than 10 employees
- Be a Starter Company Plus graduate
Selection Criteria
Nominations are evaluated based on:
- Business success and growth
- Employment contribution to the community
- Community impact
- Professional development
- Character and leadership
Award Presentation
The 2026 Entrepreneur of the Year will be announced prior to the Small Business Success Forum and formally recognized during the event on October 22, 2026.
